Undergraduate Ayurveda and Unani medical students are able to see a wide spectrum of medical and surgical conditions that they have probably seen only in text books before. They will be able to (depending on the availability)

  • Participate in bed-side interactive teaching sessions, ward rounds, ward classes and
    small group discussions
  • Attend casualty nights to observe acute case management
  • Attend lectures/seminars/symposia
  • Visit clinics
  • Assist minor surgeries/ post-operative management at the operation theatre
  • Perform minor procedure/surgeries under supervision
  • Do casualty night-on calls (as shadow house officer)
  • Visit outpatient department
  • Develop a list of Patya-Apathya advises specific to individual case
  • Perform treatment procedures eg. Panchakarma, Ilaj bit tadbeer and case handling
    during the pre and post treatment period under supervision
  • Identify raw drugs, finish products of Ayurveda/Unani dosage forms
  • Actively engage in drug preparation, storing and packaging process (Ayurveda/Unani)
